Terri was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Birmingham, Alabama the day after she married Bill Steinert in June 1979. Terri began working for Rich’s (now Macy’s) as an associate in the Ladies Accessory area and moved into fashion management and then into operations. Terri was the Assistant Store Manager of Personnel and Operations and had become the mother of two young children. Retail was tough with John (born 1989) and Katie (born 1990). Terri made a decision with Bill’s support to stay home with the kids and go to real estate school.
